Founded and operated by Bloomington-Normal native Marc Svensson, our company is built on a foundation of local pride and hands-on experience. Marc’s passion for painting began early—at just 13, he started as a clean-up boy for a local painter.
Summers spent under the mentorship of his industrial arts teacher at University High School in Normal sharpened his skills and fueled his ambition. In 1982, Marc made his mark by founding Svensson Painting & Wallcovering, and just a year later, he proudly graduated as a master paperhanger from The American School of Paperhanging Arts in Commerce, GA.
Marc’s deep expertise and passion for the craft earned him a distinguished appointment to the Advisory Board of Directors at the American School of Paperhanging Arts in 1985. This role reflects his leadership within the industry and his commitment to advancing the art of paperhanging. To this day, Marc is dedicated to lifelong learning—constantly exploring the latest products and techniques to ensure every client receives the highest standard of service.
