Svensson Painting and Wallcovering is owned and operated by Marc Svensson
Marc is a Bloomington-Normal native who first got his hands in the business as a clean-up boy at the age of 13 with a local painter and later worked summers with his Industrial Arts teacher painting houses while attending University High School in Normal, IL. In 1982 Marc decided to establish Svensson Painting & Wallcovering and in 1983 graduated as a master paperhanger from The American School of Paperhanging Arts in Commerce, Georgia.
In 1985 Marc was appointed to the Advisory Board of Directors of the American School of Paperhanging Arts. Till this day Marc continues to educate himself on the latest products and techniques.
Marc has a great love for history and does what he can to help preserve it, which is why you may see Marc as well as his brother Jon and his son Blake at the David Davis Mansion either installing new door hinges on the old antique doors or helping with a more major restoration of the interior:
